Capresso vs Cuininart Grind and Brew coffee Maker

by Lori
(Middletown, Indiana)

I like the idea of having a burr grinder built in my coffee maker, (one less appliance on the counter).

I am confused about the difference between the Cuisinart grind and brew and the Capresso grind and brew coffee makers.

Can you show me the differences?

Thanks,
Lori

Comparing Cuisinart Grind and Brew to Capresso CoffeeTEAM Grind & Brew Coffee Maker
by: Anonymous

What benefits do both of these excellent grind and brew coffee makers share?

  • The DGB-900 is the new Cuisinart model that includes a burr grinder as part of the coffee maker itself. The Capresso CoffeeTEAM also integrates a commercial grade burr grinder. And both offer a thermal carafe for the freshest coffee even hours after initial brewing.

  • Both coffee makers offer different coarseness settings for your coffee beans, and the ability to adjust the bean grinding to just the amount of coffee you plan to brew at the moment.

  • Both coffee makers brew up to 10 cups of coffee per brewing cycle. You can order a 12 cup Cuisinart grind and brew for an additional charge.

What sets the Capresso CoffeeTEAM grind and brew apart from the Cuisinart grind and brew?

  • The shape of the filter basket.

Jura Capresso integrates a cone-shaped filter that produces a better flavored coffee.
  • It's important to note that both companies offer excellent customer satisfaction warranties, but Cuisinart warranties their coffee makers by a full 3 years, where as Capresso only offers a 1 year warranty.
  • We have found that the Capresso CoffeeTEAM grind and brew coffee maker is easier to clean than other similar coffee makers with grinders. Keeping your coffee maker clean of oils insures that your coffee always tastes it's best.
  • Jura Capresso CoffeeTEAM offers a special coverlid that prevents any static coffee from going all over. And we like the clear separation of the bean hopper from the brewing section of this coffee maker. There is little chance that your fresh coffee beans will absorb any moisture with this design.
  • You will find that the Capresso's thermal carafe is dripless, and it retains the heat much better because it twists shut to seal in both flavor and temperature, where as the Cuisinart does not.

  • Considering that both 10 cup automatic drip coffee makers with thermal carafes and conical burr grind and brew capabilities are priced similar, it's clearly a personal choice.

Most reviewers felt that the Jura Capresso brewed a better tasting coffee all around. I suspect it is a matter of what you are used to.
